How to Make Windows 7 Startup Faster

  1. Check start-up logs to identify potential system resource hogs. You can do this from Start menu by typing MSCONFIG in the search box, clicking the .exe file, then clicking the Startup tab.

  2. Any programs that you may have installed and allowed to run on Start-up will show in the Start > All Programs > Startup
  3. Find out which programs were installed by you. You can check the date of installation from Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Identify the third party applications you wish to remove or those that you do not need. Uncheck these in the Startup Manager.
  4. Disable Startup programs selectively by un-checking the application tick box under Startup.
