To every Apple fanboy's dismay, yesterday Apple announced the iPhone 4S. Looking exactly the same as the iPhone 4, the only noticeable improvements were a dual-core A5 processor, and a new camera (granted, the new camera is actually amazing). They also touted Siri, the virtual personal assistant that reeks of Vlingo or Google Voice Actions. According to them, the original iPhone 4 wasn't powerful enough to run any sort of voice recognition, so you need the iPhone 4S for that. Other than that, there are only minor things like "intelligent antenna switching" which allows you to actually hold your phone like a person when you talk on it, and the addition of an HSPA radio that only works on ATT. So if you get this on Verizon or Sprint, then you are stuck with 3G speeds.
Pre-orders start on Oct 7th, with the phone being released a week later on the 14th. The Apple website has the typical Apple-style, but even the most hardcore of Apple supporters will notice that there are only 3 things mentioned as being new to the device.
