Best Smartphones with High Resolution Screens

1. Sony Xperia S:


Screen Pixel Density: 342ppi (Pixel per Inch)


Price: 30,999 in flipkart.


Xperia S is Sony’s first non-Ericsson smartphone that got launched at this year’s CES (Consumer Electronic Show) and reached Indian stores in April 2012. The device taunts a 4.3-inch 720p Reality display having 342 pixel density. It is powered by 1.5 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The up-gradation to Android 4.0 will be received by the end of May or early June. Other specifications are; 12 MO camera rear camera with Sony Exmor R image sensor, 1.3 MP front facing camera with 720p video capture, NFC support, PlayStation certification and comes in two colors- black and white. Presently this is the only phone in the Indian market with a better screen resolution than Apple iPhone 4S.

2. BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha:


Screen Pixel Density: 356 ppi


This new handset of BlackBerry got reveled few weeks ago at the event BlackBerry World. It runs on the RIM’s new operating system dubbed as BlackBerry 10 (BBX). The device flaunts its 4.2-inch 1280x768 HD display with 356ppi and actually puts Apple’s iPhone to shame. Along with this handset the company revealed five more devices at the event which includes BlackBerry Nevada, BlackBerry Naples, BlackBerry Nashville, BlackBerry London and a 10-inch BBX tablet named BlackBerry Blackforest. There are not much details about these devices specs and price, but these products will make the competitors a run for their money when they hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.


3. HTC Rezound:

This tuff looking smartphone from HTC comes with 4.3-inch 720x1280 HD display at 342ppi. One exclusive feature in this phone is the company’s Beats Audio integration that gives an elucidated level of music experience. It is engineered with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB storage and runs on Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread) – upgradable to Android 4.0. The device sports a 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB for connectivity. The device is not yet available in the Indian market.

4. iPhone 4/4S:

Price: iPhone 4 costs 30000 and iPhone 4S costs 44,450 for the 16GB model.


Apple with its iPhone gave the smartphone industry a whole new look when it came up with touchscreen. Then they raised the expectation bar with their ‘resolutionary’ Retina Display which they boosted in iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Both the phones have a 3.5-inch 640x960 display at 326ppi.


iPhone 4 has 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor, 5 MP and runs on iPhone OS 4 which is upgradable to iOS 5.1.


iPhone 4S device is powered by dual-core processor, has a superior graphics chip and sports an 8 mega-pixel camera. The unique virtual assistant software ‘Siri’ in iPhone 4S is the best selling factor in this smartphone.
 


5. Huawei Ascend D Quad XL:


Screen Pixel Density: 326ppi


This high-performing smartphone comes with company’s own 1.5Ghz Quad-core processor and sports a stunning 4.5-inch 720x1280 HD display at 326ppi. If display is taken into account this phone is the best alternative for iPhone’s Retina Display. The phone features a 8 MP camera, 1.3 MP front facing camera, 1GB RAM, 8 GB of memory and a powerful 2500 mAh battery. The phone is not yet reached Indian market, but it is expected to launch by the end of this quarter with an affordable price tag.
