Days after telecom operators such as
Airtel, RCom and Idea announced slashing their 3G tariffs, Aircel has
also revised its 3G tariffs. Aircel's revised 3G plans are available in
the 13 circles, where it owns 3G licences. The operator has also
announced four new unlimited data card plans.
The cheapest data plan from Aircel is
“3G Aircel Pocket Internet Smart”, under which users can access
unlimited high speed Internet for Rs. 8, with a validity of one day. But
there's a catch as well. Users can enjoy high-speed 3G connection, up
to 3.6 MBps, till 50MB. After that, speed will be throttled to 128 KBps.
Aircel is also offering a Rs. 18 plan,
which gives 500 MB of 3G data, for three days of validity. Other two
unlimited plans are Rs. 198 and Rs. 999. Aircel is offering 1GB of 3G
data for Rs. 198, with validity of 30 days. The Rs. 999 plan features
7.2 MBps speed till 10GB, with validity of 30 days.
Earlier, Airtel, which became the first operator to launch 4G services in India, kicked off a 3G price war by slashing tariffs by a whopping 70 percent. As expected, other operators also joined the race. Vodafone and Idea have recently revised their data plans.
