Idea cuts 3G tariffs by up to 70 percent, announces new plans

As expected, 3G tariff war has begun. Days after Bharti Airtel stunned rivals by slashing rates of its 3G mobile data services, Idea Cellular has also slashed 3G tariffs by up to 70 percent.

As per the tariff revision, Idea prepaid and post-paid customers will now be charged 3 paisa for 10KB of 3G data, 70 percent lesser than the previous 10paisa/10KB rate. Idea is offering a new sachet pack of Rs. 10, which features 30 minutes of high speed web browsing. The Hero-25 pack has been priced at Rs. 25 for 100 MB 3G data, with validity of just three days.

Moreover, prepaid and postpaid users will have to shell out Rs. 100 for 300 MB of 3G data (validity of 30 days). For 1GB of data, Idea Cellular users will have to pay Rs. 250. Similarly, for 1.5GB and 2GB, users will have to pay Rs. 350 and Rs. 450 respectively (all with validity of 30 days).

Idea is also offering an unlimited monthly plan at Rs. 950 for 6GB of data. The operator has announced three long validity plans – Rs. 599 for 2GB, Rs. 850 for 3GB – both with validity of 60 days. Idea's another long validity plan has 4GB of data at Rs. 1,250 with validity of 90 days.

According to reports, Vodafone is also going to slash its 3G tariffs. Vodafone is likely to launch new plans of Rs. 25/Rs.26 – 25 MB- 1 Day, Rs. 44/ Rs. 42 – 150MB Data – 7 Days, Rs. 102 – 300MB Data – 30 Days, Rs. 200/ Rs. 202- 500MB-30 Days, Rs. 251/Rs. 253 – 1 GB Data – 30 Days, Rs. 451/Rs. 452 – 2 GB Data – 30 Days and Rs. 1052/Rs.1501 – 10 GB Data – 30 Days. These plans however have not been confirmed by Vodafone India.

Requirement for unlock Huawei E1732 Idea Net Setter :

1. CDMA Workshop (Download It From This Link)
2. E1732 Downgrader (Download It From This Link)

1. Disable all the antivirus before starting the process. Because most of antivirus detect CDMA Workshop as virus.

2. Plug your E1732 with any other operator sim and let it install its driver.

3. Now just Right click on your MY COMPUTER ICON >> PROPERTIES >> DEVICE MANAGER >>Ports (COM & LPT) then you will see there something like HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Application Interface (COM8) then com8 is your systems port number please note your port number.

4. Now Run CDMA Workshop.Exe and  Click on Main and select the com port number in COM Settings (AT mode) box.

5. Now click on the "Connect" button.

6. After getting connected click on "Read" button. 

7. Now Click on Security Tab >> Spc >> Default (nv_read) as SPC and Type 000000 in blank box and click on Spc and you can see the pop up window click on SEND.

8. Now Just Navigate to Memory Tab >> NV Items >> And Click On Read you can see on pop up box now click on OK.

9. Now you can see onw NV Backup Box now in Last NV Item box type 9999 and click on ok and save it with any name. and it will backup your data let it be complete to 100% and minimize CDMA Work Shop.

10. Now Run E1732 Downgrader >> Accept Terms and Condition >> Then Click On Next and it will read your modem let it be finish then it will show your modem data then click on Start.

11. In the process if you get message like update failure after downloading program. then dont worry and click on OK.

12. Then Again Come on CDMA Workshop and come on Main Tab and click on Disconnect and unplug your modem.

13. Now Again Plug your modem and Run CDMA Workshop and check and select Com port as we have done previously.

14. Then come on CDMA wokrshop and Select Com Port and click on Connect and navigate to Memory Tab >> NV ITEMS >> Click On Write >> now you can see one confirm box click on OK. then Click on Open then browse and select the file which we have saved before.

15. When the process will reach at 100% you can see success message then click on OK and From Main Tab Disconnect your modem and you are Done.

Idea Revises Rs 15 Data Pack in Kerala

Idea started sending SMS to its subscribers that benefits of Rs. 15 2G data recharge via flexi/USSD will be changed to 250 MB, valid for 2 days w.e.f June 18th.

As of now you can get old benefit of 500MB for 3 days in case you get the paper vouchers of Rs. 15 data pack.
